NGC 5907 - Splinter Galaxy NGC 5907 is an edge-on spiral galaxy in Draco, approximately 50 million light years from Earth. Its thin, needle-like appearance earns it the name Splinter Galaxy. Notable for a faint tidal stream discovered in 2006, the remnants of a dwarf galaxy absorbed over billions of years. Imaged with a Canon EOS Rebel T3i and HEQ5 mount from the backyard observatory.
